Four intrepid colleagues from Worcester-based solicitors Hallmark Hulme are teaming up to tackle a gruelling charity challenge this summer.

The group, comprising managing partner Rebecca Widdowson, employment solicitor Claire Cole, family law solicitor Laura Williams and office administrator Jess Hathaway will be taking part in Race the Sun Brecon Beacons on June 25.

Raising funds for Action Medical Research for Children, the all day event combines a 47 mile cycle, an eight mile hike up Pen-Y-Fan and a three kilometre canoe section on Pontsticill Reservoir.

Hallmark Hotties team navigator Ms Widdowson said: “It’s the first time we’ve taken part in an event as a foursome but we’re aiming high. We’re striving to beat the all ladies team record set in 2015 of nine hours and 22 minutes and to do that we’ve all got to finish together.

“To prepare, we’ll be walking up Pen-Y-Fan in the coming weeks and hope to have a training session in a couple of canoes. We haven’t had much previous experience of caneoing but as they’re tied together we’re pretty sure none of us will fall in.”

Action Medical Research for Children is Hallmark Hulme’s charity for 2016 and Worcester’s oldest law firm has already collected more than £300 through a Christmas raffle and golf day with further fund-raising events in the pipeline.

The press release and photo has been featured in the Worcester News and on the Edge Magazine website.
