Bringing 25 years of insight to new business brokerage role

Independent business brokers Business Partnership have appointed a new regional partner for Bristol and Bath.

As a commercial director and fractional chief growth officer, Philippa Tuck has more than two decades of experience in a wide range of sectors including technology and media, healthcare, retail and consumer and hospitality and food.

Ms Tuck’s experience of transactions lies on both sides of the deal rather than solely in the transaction itself. She has spent many years helping owner-managed businesses build value ahead of a future sale, and has worked inside investor-backed businesses after acquisition to deliver the growth the buyer has invested in. This gives her a practical understanding of what makes a business attractive to acquire, what buyers genuinely value, what they will pay a premium for, and what can quietly erode value.

“I typically work with established owner-managed businesses where there is something valuable to build on, but where growth, profitability or sale value has not yet reached its potential,” she said.

“Many are considering a sale within the next 12 to 24 months; others are looking to grow through acquisition. In both cases, the quality of the decisions made before a transaction can have a significant impact on the value ultimately created.”

Joining Business Partnership means Ms Tuck can now support owners through the full business journey: building a stronger and more valuable business, preparing and managing a successful sale, or helping ambitious buyers identify and acquire the right business for their next stage of growth.

“It starts with being clear about what success looks like for you and then building a plan to get there. Quite often that isn’t purely a business question – it’s a personal one,” she added.

One of the oldest independent companies in the sector, Business Partnership’s regional partners currently span the UK from Surrey and the South West to the Scottish Highlands.
