03 Nov The Radical Rethink blog – Blue sky thinking for the soul
At our last Radical Rethink session in October we discussed how to get your message out to the wider world as we head into winter with Covid-19 still very much with us.
Specifically, we focused on turning deeds into actions and words to enable us to communicate effectively.
Lockdown has affected us all in so many fundamental ways, often positively despite the destruction Covid-19 has caused.
One delegate described ‘the shrinking of the physical world’ and how, during lockdown and beyond, many of us have become more community spirited.
As we kicked our discussion around this theme, we heard about a range of feel good initiatives including organised litter picking (ticking the multifaceted boxes of physical fitness, mental health, shared friendship and a cleaner local environment) to community fruit growing schemes and how easily we have adapted to technology such as video conferencing.
This new form of networking – the technology has been there for ages but only become de rigueur since Covid-19 – has enabled us to stay in touch and do business without, crucially, losing wasted travel time to, often, unnecessary physical meetings as part of our own ‘new normal’. In the process we have created more time for the good stuff such as health, wellbeing and a more equitable work-life balance.
That’s why we love The Radical Rethink so much.
It is all about positivity and less about thinking outside the box but rather recognising that boxes and boundaries needn’t exist at all.
It is blue sky thinking for the soul, focusing on things that matter most rather than shallow things that should concern us least as we work our way out of the most momentous period of our lives.
At this month’s meeting – on Friday, November 13 (10am-midday) – we’re concentrating on authenticity – on how to be the real deal by delving deep into our roots to tease out the characteristics that make us truly unique, special, original human beings with our own ethics, values and beliefs.
How to be our genuine authentic selves, not a pale impersonation of others, is something that we’d argue is more important than ever as we find ourselves challenged and needing to draw deeper than ever before.
If you would like to join this and future meetings you can find further information on our Radical Rethink page. Book to attend our next session via Eventbrite.
