The CGM team love getting involved in charity events, especially when they’re as much fun as Strictly Worcestershire.

We were delighted when producer Gerard Smith asked us to be media partners for this glitzy and glamorous event, which raises valuable funds for the Worcestershire Breast Unit Campaign and Ladies Fighting Breast Cancer.

Last Thursday’s sell-out spectacular at the Chateau Impney in Droitwich Spa was the culmination of a lot of hard work put in by a lot of people.

Of course, the key to success is careful planning – by the contestants, their dance instructors, Kate Dodge and her team from ProJect Events, venue staff, the hair and make-up teams…

The list goes on – and we’re on it too. Soon after we accepted Gerard’s kind invitation to get involved, we met with the man himself and two representatives of supreme project benefactor Sanctuary Group to discuss our communications and social media strategy. A detailed communications matrix, event timeline and communication plan were then drawn up.

Thanks to thorough forward planning, the results were impressive with excellent local and regional print, online and broadcast media coverage plus outstanding reach and engagement on the event’s Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn group pages.

Strictly Worcestershire’s objectives have been achieved – all tickets were sold, a memorable event was staged and two excellent charities will benefit.

Nearly a week on, everyone connected with the event – and those who attended – are still buzzing. And that makes us feel good too.
