04 Dec CGM blog – Can do, must do
‘Yes we can’ might be a phrase forever associated with Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential election campaign but at CGM we have our own take on it – can do, must do.
A client who we’d arranged something for at short notice recently sent an email to Teresa.
It read: “That’s great – I like your can do attitude – it makes my life so much simpler”.
Now, let me explain, making life simple for people isn’t our sole objective and we don’t do subservience. We aim to achieve results, so what we managed on this particular occasion was to solve a problem fast, effectively and without fuss.
Our client needed help (and assurance) so we were immediately on the case. Problem solved. We were, as a certain building society advert goes, on their side.
We’ve since printed the email and posted it on our noticeboard as a permanent reminder to maintain a positive mindset and a proactive approach – Yes we can, yes we will, yes we do, and yes we have done.
The bedrock of any business communication should be a mission statement and clear set of aims, values, ethics and integrity. But you need to walk it as you talk it.
To us, a ‘can do’ attitude is part of our customer guarantee.
When you become a Chris Green Media customer it is an integral part of the service you receive as standard, whatever service we provide and not an optional extra if we like the cut of your jib (or not).
Sadly too many businesses pay lip service to ‘can do’. Some even wear being awkward, evasive and incommunicado as a badge of honour. Making their customer wait, feel second rate or inadequate is a surefire way to lose them pronto.
That won’t do if you value repeat business – which, by the way, is the theme of our January 2015 Worcester Business Media Club meeting (if you want to visit our club – get in touch).
It is why can do, must do for you and your clients.
