I’d like you to meet some of my best friends. I’ve known them for ages.

They‘re a great bunch of workmates who have always served me well and have always been there to help when I’ve needed them most. They’ve seen me through hard times and helped me most when I have sought inspiration

In fact, rarely a day goes by when I don’t think about them or call upon their help. The best thing is….they’re entirely in my head but they help me to communicate effectively.

So say hello to my good friends….. Who, Where, Why, What, When, and How?

Or if you struggle to recall them all – imagine five little bums (the W’s) sat on a bed (the H shape).

OK, they’re only words – but they count.

If you make a mental note each time you write or talk to answer as many of those questions as possible I’ll guarantee that whether you are drafting a speech or presentation, letter or email, newsletter or press release you’ll shape the factual basis for a story or produce an effective means of communication.

You’ll need to add some pizzazz of course to make it ‘sing’…but you’re well on your way to putting words into action.

So go on, invite my best friends into your life. I promise, they’ll never let you down.
