Tom is a well-known sports author, broadcaster, writer, film maker, festival organiser, actor and all round good guy who is a popular media trainer and publishing consultant at CGM.

He is the author of several incisive football books including ghost writing David Beckham’s autobiography, My Side (Willow – 2004) and Position of Trust, written with former footballer Andy Woodward, was shortlisted for the William Hill Sports Book of 2019 and the 2020 Telegraph Sports Book of the Year awards.

Tom’s other work includes A Beautiful Game, personal stories from the 2010 World Cup staged in South Africa, Football Shorts, an anthology of football-themed short stories for teenagers written by established children’s authors and Premier League footballers, and The End, a seminal work lamenting the loss of England’s football terraces.

 

Tom is an experienced radio and TV presenter whose credits include Talksport, BBC Radio London, Arsenal TV and BT Sport.

As an actor Tom was an original cast member of EastEnders, playing Lofty Holloway between 1985 and 1988

A veteran TV documentary maker, Tom is also a consultant to EA Sports, the National Football Museum and the University Campus of Football Business.

Tom has been a member of the CGM team since 2013 and is a key figure in not only delivering our broadcast media training courses but helping to develop the style and content of the wide range of media, comms and publishing courses we offer.

Aside from his extensive media work, Tom’s acting experience also provides an added dimension to the training we provide and his infectious enthusiasm is always appreciated by the people we train alongside his skill and expertisie at at directing films, video and other media productions.
