27 Jan Second City communications club tunes into youth charity
A Birmingham-based monthly communications club run by Chris Green Media has chosen a music and multi-media business programme for young people as its charity for 2016.
The Birmingham Business Media Club will be supporting BlastBeat, which teaches entrepreneurial business skills, promotes young musicians and supports youth communities.
Club founder Chris Green said: “BlastBeat is a natural fit as it is well established in Birmingham and does a great job harnessing young people’s enthusiasm in music and social media to help them achieve amazing things through event management.
“A representative from the charity will attend each meeting and we’ll also be encouraging some of the young people involved with the scheme to join us, which will help them to develop their business knowledge and expertise.”

BlastBeat founder Robert Stephenson added: “We are really delighted to connect with the Birmingham Business Media Club. This will raise awareness of the work we do developing life and workplace skills and aspiration levels amongst at risk young people in a fun, cool way.”
The next meeting of the Birmingham Business Media Club, which focuses on media training, personal development and quality networking, will be held at Longbridge Innovation Centre, Devon Way, on Friday, February 19 from 9.30am to 12.30pm.
The meeting theme is PR campaign launch pad – planning a successful PR campaign for a new product, service or event.
Although the meeting is free for visitors to attend the club they will be asked to make a donation to BlastBeat.
