A fast-growing Worcestershire accountancy firm is giving an enthusiastic cohort of apprentices and graduate trainees the chance to shine.

Ormerod Rutter Chartered Accountants, who have offices in Droitwich Spa and Bromsgrove, have recruited seven young people – the third group to join the training scheme since it was devised in 2012 by accounts manager Doug Marshall, whose own career began as an apprentice.

The new faces are apprentices James Price (Worcester), Matthew Wheatcroft (Stourport), Simon Robson (Stourbridge) and Charlotte Beck (Redditch). Graduate trainees Jack Scott-Walker, Grace Haines and Daniel Poxon hail from Droitwich, Worcester and Kidderminster respectively.

Partner Nicky Ormerod said: “We’re delighted that our continued success over the past 12 months has enabled us to create these opportunities and we have high hopes for our new recruits.”

During the first 12 months, the apprentices will each spend three months in Ormerod Rutter’s tax, limited company, small business and audit departments working towards their Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualification. For the following two years, they will be allocated to a set department.

If they are successful, they can then progress to the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) qualification, which takes four years to complete.
